Black DC Granite

Black DC is a black granite with fine grey streaks that run mostly in one direction, giving the slab a brushed, almost woven look. It is a quieter alternative to speckled blacks for floors, counters and staircases.

What Black DC looks like

Up close you see a near-black base threaded with thin silver-grey lines and small grains, flowing the same way across the slab. Because the pattern is directional, it looks best when every piece is laid with the grain running the same way. Share your layout and we cut and number the pieces to match.

Where it works best

  • Living-room and lobby flooring
  • Kitchen counters with a softer look than jet black
  • Staircases and landings
  • Exterior cladding, in a flamed finish

Care and maintenance

Dense and low-maintenance. The grey streaks hide dust and footprints on floors, so it looks clean between mops. Use a pH-neutral floor cleaner and avoid acid-based tile cleaners.

Black DC Granite: common questions

Does Black DC granite show scratches?

Granite is much harder than everyday grit, so scratches are rare. The streaky pattern also hides small marks better than a plain black polish.

Can Black DC be used outdoors?

Yes. For wet outdoor areas, ask for a flamed or leather finish so the surface is not slippery.
